Waterloo station - Man's skull fractured in fight over England game

A man suffered a fractured skull and eye socket after an assault at a railway station pub.

The attack happened at the BrewDog venue inside London Waterloo station at around 4.12am and followed a dispute between two men who had been watching England’s World Cup match against Mexico.

British Transport Police said the altercation escalated into a serious assault.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the initial fight.

One was arrested on suspicion of common assault, the other on suspicion of affray.

Both have been released on conditional bail while the investigation continues.

Officers are appealing for information and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who recorded the incident on their phone.
