A man has been charged with attempted murder after a late night crash left a cyclist fighting for his life in hospital.
The incident happened in Aylward Street, Stepney Green at around 11.15pm on Thursday (August 6) night.
The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.
The Met Police has confirmed that Parvez Ahmed Rahman, 33 (23.04.93), of Russia Lane, Tower Hamlets, was charged on Friday (August 7) with attempted murder and failing to stop after a road incident.
Yesterday (August 8) he appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court.
He has been remanded and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 4 September.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 23:15hrs on Thursday, 6 August to reports of a collision involving a car and cyclist on Aylward Street, Stepney Green.
"Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service. The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he continues to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries.
"Parvez Ahmed Rahman, 33 (23.04.93), of Russia Lane, Tower Hamlets, was charged on Friday, 7 August with attempted murder and failing to stop after a road incident.
"Rahman appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 8 August.
"He has been remanded and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 4 September."
