East Ham shooting - Resident react as man, 40, dies

A man in his 40s has died after being shot inside a vehicle.

The incident happened in East Ham during the early hours of August 18.

Police were called to St Bartholomew’s Road in Newham at around 3am, where they found the man with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.

A woman who lives nearby said the shooting has left her deeply shaken.

She said: "This is the most horrible thing ever.

"I have my daughter living here with three kids.

"This is so horrible.

"What is going wrong in this world?

"I was talking to my husband the other day and we are thinking of moving away from London.

"It's so horrible."

A police cordon is in place, with the side of Central Park Road linking to the street where the shooting happened also cordoned off.

A forensic tent has been set up at the scene, and forensic officers are at the scene.

The shooting took place near St Bartholomew’s Church and Centre, in East Ham.
